So You Want Jaw Surgery, Now What?
How to Start Your Jaw Surgery Journey
All it takes is an offhand comment. “You’d be a good candidate for jaw surgery,” someone mutters, and the idea lodges in your brain sending you on a rabbit hole of research.
Just kidding. No one outside a dentist or a surgeon is going to tell you that. What you’re more to hear is:
- “Is that clicking noise your jaw?!?”
- “Why aren’t your teeth lining up?”
- “Why do you tilt your head in all your selfies?”
Jaw surgery journeys are LONG. We’re talking years, and more time you get stuck and stalled in research, the longer the journey ends up becoming. Before you fall into a research spiral, make a plan. Or better yet follow this one.
In this article, I assume that:
- You have medical insurance
- You are getting jaw surgery domestically (I’ll discuss the pros and cons of surgery abroad vs. in your home country another time)
